Frequently asked questions/Measuring size

My right size

How do I find out my correct size?

Rings: Do you have a ring that fits you well? If so, then measure the inner diameter of this ring. For example, if your inner diameter measures 17.8mm then your ring size is 56.

Measuring ring size without a ring: Take a strip of paper or string and wrap it around your finger. Mark the spot where the paper or string meet. You should still be able to twist the paper and string on your finger, otherwise it will be too tight. Now measure the circumference from the beginning to the marked spot. For example, 5.6cm on the tape measure corresponds to ring size 56.

If you are between two sizes, choose the larger of the two.

Here is a table with all ring sizes.

Necklace:
Take a strip of paper or string and wrap it around your neck to the desired length and measure the length where the strips of paper or string meet.
Bracelet and anklet: Take a strip of paper or string and wrap it around your arm or ankle. Measure the length where the strip of paper or string meets, depending on how loose or tight you want it.

Is the jewelry handmade?

The jewelry is lovingly made by hand for you here in Switzerland. I draw inspiration for the designs from nature, mythology and other artists. Each piece of jewelry is designed and made by me.

What materials are used?

The jewelry is made of 14k gold filled, 925 sterling silver, 316L stainless steel and partly of 304L stainless steel.

Gold filled is of higher quality than gold plated. For gold filled metal, the gold layer must be at least 5%. For gold plated metal, the gold layer is only 0.5-2.5 microns thick. In some cases, it can be scraped off by hand. Gold plated metal discolors quickly after contact with water. Gold filled metal, on the other hand, does not discolor.

316L stainless steel is waterproof and the gold color is achieved by PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating. This type of coating makes a piece of jewelry extremely durable and gold loss is minimized to the maximum.

Jewelry Care

Here are a few tips and tricks to ensure your jewelry stays beautiful for a long time. It is possible to wear the jewelry in water. Over time, however, the color will fade slightly.

  • Avoid contact with perfume, water, sweat, body lotions & soaps.
  • Remove your jewelry before going to bed.
  • Be sure to put your jewelry back on last, so put on clothes and use perfume first.
  • It is best to store your jewelry in our jewelry boxes.

What to do if your jewelry is dirty?
Through everyday wear, dirt accumulates in the gaps between your jewelry.

  • Try rubbing it with a glasses cloth or velvet cloth.
  • Wash your jewelry under lukewarm water and use a toothbrush to gently clean the gaps between the rings. It always works great on my engagement ring.

Why does silver jewelry tarnish and what can I do about it?

It is completely normal for silver jewelry to tarnish and in this case means that it is real silver. Silver oxidizes with oxygen and can turn dark, black or golden. That is why it is best to store it in an airtight container. However, unlike discolored costume jewelry, this discoloration can be cleaned and polished again.

  • Polish the piece of jewellery with a silver polishing cloth. Also available in Migros & Coop
  • Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the jewelry, wash it with lukewarm water and polish it with a soft cloth.
